Orbit Center (Continuing Story 1)
————————————————
“To the left, at the 10 o’clock position—head toward the Orbit Center.”
“Are you sure you’ve shaken off the Customs Enforcement Bureau?”
“I think so—provided you can slip into the building without trouble.”
The man slipped his hands into the pockets of his trench coat, where his fingertips slowly coalesced a warm, moist liquid—the blood trickling down his arm.
He had initially assumed this would be nothing more than a routine patrol. But unexpectedly, this small civilization in the remote sector seemed driven mad, nearly driving them to their deaths on several occasions.
There was definitely something amiss here.
Amid the bustling crowd, the man clenched his fists silently. He couldn’t let even a drop of blood touch the ground—it would serve as an obvious trail marker. His blood-soaked coat pocket was already becoming soaked through; he needed to find a place quickly where he could evade local searches.
After scanning his surroundings and confirming there were no people, drones, or any other tracking devices nearby, he turned and entered the entranceway.
A massive sign above read:
“Starport G1”
“Mesa, I’m inside the target area. Where do we go next?”
The woman’s voice chuckled softly: “I certainly don’t want you to die here.”
The man nodded, stepped into a bathroom stall, removed his trench coat, and squeezed two doses of healing agent directly onto the bullet wounds.
The bleeding stopped, and his muscles began rapidly mending.
He pulled out an electroion knife, seared the bloodstained portions of his coat, then neatly sliced it into pieces before stepping on the flush lever, sending the fragments tumbling down the drain.
By the time he emerged from the restroom, he had already changed into a fresh outfit.
“Based on the information I’ve gathered so far, to uncover everything, we must locate ‘Hyacinth.’”
“What’s Hyacinth?”
No response came—only static crackling in his mind.
“Mesa?”
In an instant, a shrill, anxious electrical buzz reverberated through his skull: “Head to the Starport! Hurry!”
The next second, her voice vanished completely.
