Stitchwick never meowed.

Legend says he was found on the back shelf of an old toy shop, sealed inside a dusty box with a warning written across the lid: “Do not sew him back together if he tears.” The little purple cat looked almost cute at first glance. One eye was just a button… but the other looked far too alive. Anyone who stared at it for too long could swear it blinked.

At night, a faint scratching could be heard from the room. Never loud. Just enough to wake you up and make you wonder where it was coming from. By morning, new black stitches always appeared on Stitchwick’s head… as if something inside him had been trying to get out.

Children loved him because he looked adorable.

Adults noticed his smile getting wider every day.

They say if you turn Stitchwick around so he’s facing away from you, he never stays that way for long. The next time you look, he’s just a little bit closer. He doesn’t jump. He doesn’t scream. He doesn’t bite.

He only waits.

Because Stitchwick doesn’t want your body.

He just needs one more button… for the other eye.
