One Buddha’s hand, two pomegranates, three longevity peaches.

Originally carved from a single block of jade, with branches winding gracefully and fruits nestled closely together, the double holes are staggered in height,

serving as a silent blessing of “many children, much fortune, and long life” in the Qing dynasty imperial study.

The jade is warm and smooth, the carving technique refined and mature,

with the curled tips of the Buddha’s hand, the faintly visible seeds of the pomegranate, and the plump, rounded surface of the peach all arranged with meticulous care within this small space.

This time, we’ve attempted to recreate it using 3D printing—transforming jade into silk.

Layered textures replace the intricate chisel marks, and PLA’s silky sheen takes the place of jade’s deep, lustrous quality,

yet the overall form and structure still echo the original’s thoughtful design

—the double holes can still hold a sprig of dried flowers or a slender twig,

or remain empty, simply resting on your desk.

but in their ability to accompany us through quiet moments.

Printing Notes

• The hollowed-out junctions between branches and fruits are quite delicate; please keep the filament dry to avoid stringing that could mar the finished surface.
• When removing supports from the drooping sections of the Buddha’s hand and the peach, proceed with patience.

• For an appearance closer to jade, consider using semi-transparent PETG in shades of dark green or bluish-gray.
