“Breath of Silence | Breath of Stillness”

This work takes “mindfulness and inner stillness” as its design premise, using a minimalist sculptural language to create an emotionally resonant spatial experience.

The centerpiece is a sculpture of a figure’s head with closed eyes, gently tilted to one side, capturing the fleeting moment when consciousness gradually turns inward from the external world. Abandoning figurative narrative, the piece employs soft facial expressions and simplified formal language to highlight the delicate balance between stillness and relaxation.

The base adopts a concentric, radiating structural motif, symbolizing the natural unfolding of breathing rhythms and emotional fluctuations, guiding the viewer’s gaze from a concrete physical form toward a sense of spatial awareness. The overall structure evolves through a gradual transition from dense to sparse, from solid to void, creating a slow, diffusive visual flow.

The work seeks to explore the relationship between material form and psychological experience, translating the abstract notion of “a state of stillness” into a tactile, observable spatial installation via 3D printing, thereby imbuing it with an atmospheric presence within everyday environments.

This design does not aim for any specific functional purpose; rather, it emphasizes symbolic expression and the creation of a particular spatial ambiance, inviting viewers to find moments of focused attention and quiet reflection through contemplation and lingering.
