A log-shaped hideaway specially designed for aquarium ecosystems, 3D-printed to replicate the texture and form of natural driftwood, with a hollow-core design that provides fish and shrimp with safe hiding and navigating spaces. It supports weighted attachment (to enhance sinking stability) or solid printing (eliminating the need for weights and resulting in a sturdier structure), making it suitable for a wide range of aquarium setups, reducing stress in fish and shrimp, and offering natural decorative appeal.

Design Highlights

  1. Log-like Texture: The surface faithfully reproduces the rough texture and organic shape of driftwood, seamlessly blending into biotope tanks, planted tanks, and other aquascaping styles.
  2. Hollow Core with Openings: A hollow interior combined with side openings creates multi-channel exploration spaces, satisfying fish and shrimp’s natural behaviors of hiding, burrowing, and swimming.
  3. Optional Sinking Options: Supports weighted attachment (with magnetic or cement weights added to the base to prevent floating) or solid printing (where the object’s own weight ensures it sinks without additional weighting).
  4. Enhanced Stability: Whether weighted or solid, the piece remains securely anchored to the tank bottom, withstands water flow and turbulence, and avoids tipping over.

Technical Specifications

  • Material: PETG (water-resistant, corrosion-resistant, non-toxic; maintains shape even after prolonged underwater use) / PLA (suitable for dry environments)
  • Process: FDM 3D printing (solid or hollow construction; weighted options available)
  • Structure: Log-shaped form with a hollow core and side openings
  • Applicable Species: Corydoras, plecos, crystal shrimp, lanternfish, dwarf cichlids, and other small to medium-sized fish and shrimp
  • Recommended Dimensions: Approximately 8 cm (length) × 3 cm (width) × 4 cm (height); customizable as needed

Application Scenarios

  • Biotope Tank Decoration: Pair with pebbles and driftwood to create a stream or riverine driftwood landscape.
  • Planted Tank Accent: Place among aquatic plants to provide fish and shrimp with a dual function—natural cave-like shelter and hiding spot.
  • Quarantine or Recovery Care: During isolation or recovery periods, fish and shrimp can temporarily reside inside to reduce stress.
  • Breeding and Rearing: Offers a safe refuge for broodstock and fry, protecting them from predation by adult fish.
