Star-Scaly Gilded Brocade Box, named for the box’s surface, which features a scale-like texture arranged like tiny stars and a pearlescent, gilded finish. Taking star-shaped geometry as its design starting point, a parametric algorithm generates interwoven, stacked arc-shaped scales; each individual scale bears an inherent star‑shaped curvature. The staggered, continuous scale pattern wraps seamlessly around the rounded, bulging body of the box, with the scale grid resembling a sky full of shimmering star‑like scales adorning the entire vessel.

The box was photographed in the printer, with no Photoshop or filters applied. I don’t use Photoshop or photography, so my models are typically shot on location—except for the cover image.
