This is a custom 3D‑printed motor mount designed for the Langyu 2216 (SUNNYSKY) motor, primarily used in model aircraft—such as fixed-wing aircraft—to securely mount the motor onto the airframe.
Core Functions
Precise Mounting: By utilizing pre‑drilled motor mounting holes, the motor is precisely positioned on the airframe, ensuring perfect coaxial alignment between the motor shaft and the propeller and preventing vibrations caused by misalignment.
Structural Support: Serving as a rigid connection between the motor and the airframe, this mount transmits the motor’s torque and thrust while absorbing impact forces during flight, thereby protecting the motor shaft and bearings.
Space Optimization: Tailored to the specific spatial layout of the aircraft, the design carefully plans motor placement and cable routing to create a more compact airframe with a balanced center of gravity.
Design Features
Precision Fit: The mount is modeled based on the exact mounting hole spacing and dimensions of the Langyu motor, ensuring a snug, vibration‑free fit that eliminates any play or looseness.
Lightweight Construction: Employing hollowed-out and truss‑like structural designs, the mount achieves maximum weight reduction while maintaining robust strength and rigidity, minimizing any adverse impact on the aircraft’s flight performance.
Enhanced Heat Dissipation: The extensive use of open‑air channels significantly improves airflow, enabling rapid heat dissipation even under high‑load conditions—boosting motor efficiency and extending its service life.
Durable Materials: It is recommended to use high‑strength 3D‑printing materials such as nylon or carbon‑fiber‑reinforced PETG, which offer excellent impact resistance and fatigue durability, making them ideal for demanding flight environments.
Application Scenarios
Power system upgrades and modifications for fixed‑wing model aircraft.
Motor installation for aircraft with unconventional configurations, such as tail‑rotor or pusher‑propeller layouts.
Racing or aerobatic aircraft models where weight and structural integrity are critical factors.
