Product Introduction
This is an innovative hydroponic seedling-growing device specifically designed to make use of aquarium resources. It features a grid-like cultivation chamber that can be clamped onto the aquarium wall, securely holding bulbous plants such as garlic just above the water surface so their roots can grow naturally and absorb the nutrient-rich water in the tank. This creates a miniature aquaponic ecosystem, serving both as an engaging parent–child educational experiment and as a source of fresh garlic sprouts for the home, while also helping to purify the aquarium water.
Design Highlights
- Modular Grid Cultivation Chamber: The main body of the cultivation chamber adopts a honeycomb or irregular polyhedral hollow-grid design, creating uniform support points that can stably hold bulbs of various sizes—such as garlic and onions—while allowing newly grown roots to pass through freely and fully absorb nutrients from the water.
- Adjustable Tank-Wall Clamping System: Equipped with a rotatable black knob clamp, it can firmly accommodate aquarium glass of varying thicknesses (typically 3–10 mm) and easily adjust the immersion depth of the cultivation chamber, thereby controlling the area where the roots are in contact with the water surface.
- Optimized Water-Exchange Structure: The large-area hollow design ensures free circulation of water both inside and outside the chamber, preventing stagnant zones. A larger central circular opening can serve as an observation window or be used to secure larger bulbs, further enhancing water exchange.
- Stable Installation and Quiet Operation: The flat rectangular structure fits snugly against the aquarium wall, minimizing interference with the fish’s swimming space. The integrated design ensures silent operation, so the aesthetic experience remains undisturbed.
Technical Specifications
- Compatibility: Can clamp glass with a typical thickness of 3–10 mm.
- Main Material: Food-contact-safe plastic (e.g., PETG, suitable for 3D printing).
- Structure: Adjustable clamping arms + grid-like cultivation chamber body.
- Dimensions (Reference): The cultivation chamber measures approximately 10 cm × 15 cm; dimensions can be scaled according to the model.
Application Scenarios
- Fun Home Hydroponics: Grow garlic, onion sets, sweet potatoes, and other crops in the aquarium, observe root development, harvest as needed, and enjoy a safe and entertaining experience.
- Kids’ Nature Education: Serve as a vivid science teaching tool that visually demonstrates plant root growth and the principles of aquaponics.
- Eco-Friendly Aquarium Water Purification: Plant roots absorb excess nitrogen and phosphorus from the water, helping to improve water quality and reduce the frequency of water changes.
- Miniature Gardening on the Kitchen Windowsill: Even without an aquarium, the device can be suspended over a glass or small container for clean hydroponic cultivation.
