Product Overview
This is a 3D-printed water-buffering device specifically designed for safe aquarium water changes. Its core function is to connect to an external water supply line and, within the device’s housing, buffer, slow down, and disperse the concentrated, high-velocity water flow before it enters the tank, ultimately transforming it into multiple gentle, evenly distributed streams. This effectively prevents the impact of the incoming water from disturbing the substrate, damaging aquascapes, or startling fish and shrimp, enabling quiet, smooth water addition.
Design Highlights
- Matrix-style Flow-Diverting Column Design: The base features multiple rows of densely packed short columns arranged in a grid, creating a flow-diverting lattice. As the water passes through this structure, it is broken up into numerous fine jets, significantly reducing impact force and eliminating the noise associated with falling water.
- Integrated Quick-Connect Plumbing System: The top is equipped with a dedicated connector that allows for secure direct insertion of a water-supply hose (e.g., a 4-mm-diameter hose), while a side-mounted air-inlet port provides flexibility for connecting additional devices such as water bottles to further regulate the flow, enabling quick, all-in-one installation.
- Internal Buffer Chamber: The square housing contains a buffer chamber where the incoming water first diffuses and slows down, avoiding direct impact on the tank bottom and achieving initial energy dissipation, resulting in a more uniform and gentle outflow.
- Sturdy Square Housing with Rounded Corners: The square design ensures stability and reduces the risk of tipping over. All edges and corners are rounded to prevent scratching the aquarium glass or injuring users.
Technical Specifications
- Compatible Hose Diameter: Standard 4-mm flexible hose (inner diameter approximately 12–13 mm).
- Primary Materials: Suitable for PLA, PETG, and other 3D-printing filaments (PETG is recommended for long-term use).
- Outflow Structure: Matrix-style flow-diverting column array at the base.
- Dimensions (Reference): Approximately the size of a palm; exact dimensions can be adjusted based on the model file.
Application Scenarios
- Aquarium Setup Water Filling: Used when filling a newly set-up tank after substrate placement and aquascape construction to prevent strong water flow from disrupting the layout.
- Daily Water Changes and Top-Ups: During routine water changes or replenishment of evaporated water, provides gentle water addition to minimize disturbance to fish and reduce water-quality fluctuations.
- Planted Tank and Shrimp Tank Maintenance: Protects delicate aquatic plants and juvenile shrimp by preventing them from being scattered or harmed by strong water currents.
- Sensitive Fish Keeping: Provides a stable water environment for easily startled species such as angelfish and rainbowfish, thereby reducing their stress response.
