A simple dust-collecting and vacuuming device requires only seven screws at minimum. The filtration system uses HEPA filter cotton, specifically the HEPA filter module from my Exhaust Air Filtration Box project. The fan is a 12V case fan in the 12038 size (roughly a high-performance fan). The overall dimensions are 168 x 168 x 82 mm. Although it’s a bit thick, it feels decent in practice. The overall size is limited by the fan’s thickness; I plan to try a 12025-sized fan next time to create a slimmer version. For power supply, I’m using a 4-pin-to-DC adapter cable connected to a 12V power supply. I purchased an adjustable power supply, so I can control the fan speed by adjusting the voltage. In the future, I’ll develop a solution that uses a PWM controller to regulate fan speed, as well as a version powered via USB Type-C. For now, the simplest setup is the adjustable power supply combined with the 4-pin-to-DC cable—no soldering required at all.
The electrical component mounting plate is secured with M4×8 flat-head screws, and you’ll need to embed either M4×6×5 hot-melt nuts or M4×5×5 hot-melt nuts into the main body. Alternatively, you can also use M5 self-tapping screws for mounting.
The front cover is held in place by four 14mm×2mm round magnets, which are glued into corresponding slots. Thanks to the magnets, you can attach commonly used metal tools, such as files, to the front panel.

The pattern on the top cover is created using an internal infill design; you can modify the modifier parameters to customize the pattern.

For the version with a base, there’s an additional step to install foot pads. I’m using TPU95A, but other materials will work too. TPU can serve as both the foot pad and the base material. PLA and PETG are also viable options. The main purpose of these foot pads is to seal the holes on the bottom surface.
For details on the filter cotton module, please refer to the description in my Exhaust Air Filtration Box project.
Required materials:
1. 4-pin-to-DC cable

2. 12038 fan

3. 14mm×2mm round magnets

4. M4×8 flat-head screws and M4×5×6 hot-melt nuts

5. M5×12 case screws

6. Nylon cable ties

7. Power adapter (I’m using an adjustable power supply)

Installation steps:
1. Embed the hot-melt nuts; I usually set the temperature to 180°C.

2. Secure the cables with cable ties

3. Fix the fan using M5 case screws

4. Secure the electrical component mounting plate with M4 screws

5. Attach magnets to the front cover and the electrical component mounting plate

6. Insert the filter cotton module and put on the top cover

P.S.: The installation method for the version with a sealed bottom is similar to the open-bottom version, except that there’s one extra step—installing foot pads (to cover the screw holes).
