The Daleks are among the most aggressive species in the universe, originally a humanoid race known as the Kaleds from the planet Skaro.
Following a nuclear war with the Thals that left the planet severely radiation‑contaminated, scientist Davros genetically engineered the Kaleds, giving rise to grotesque, octopus‑like mutants encased in metallic shells crafted from Dalek alloy. These shells are equipped with force fields and ray guns, though their visual receptors—referred to as “eyes”—remain their primary vulnerability. During the Time War, the Daleks were subjected to a temporal lock imposed by the Time Lords; most were annihilated, while a small number managed to escape through unforeseen circumstances.
