This time, we’ve brought you a wall-mounted 3D photo frame in the style of a magical academy. Not only is it an excellent decorative piece, but it can also serve as a display stand for figurines or hold lightweight everyday items! (The print does not include any figurines.)

Thanks to Migang for providing photo support and construction supervision~

The overall dimensions are: 30 cm in height, with length and width measuring 18 × 44 cm (including the door and platform). Two versions are available, with interchangeable lengths and widths.

Here’s a demonstration and installation video:

Installation requires 3D-printing-specific adhesive, along with methods for mounting to the wall such as nano-adhesive.

Recommended materials:

Large door frame: Black walnut wood (a perfect match between wooden material and magical aesthetics) / PLA matte shadow brown

Stairs: Classic birch wood / PLA matte desert yellow

Baroque picture frame: Gold silk (luxurious gold silk, though printing is relatively challenging) / Other wood-tone options

The door-frame photo holders are 4 inches, while Baroque frames are approximately 2 inches and will need trimming.

Each door frame uses eight magnets to secure it to the backing board, requiring a total of sixteen 5×3 mm round magnets, making photo changes effortless. Baroque frames are glued in place, so photos cannot be swapped.

To achieve optimal printing results, the Baroque frame was printed at a 45° tilt angle. For better structural support and to save material and printing time—especially when preparing for A1 size—I manually created a support model. Using virtual supports ensures stability while leaving no visible marks upon removal, making this an ideal support strategy. Thanks to @Clough42 for sharing this effective support technique.

Update 4.5----------------------------------------------

A mirrored version has been added: the left-low-right-high configuration suits walls with ample space on the right side, while the left-high-right-low version works best for walls with more room on the left. Choose according to your needs.
