Product Introduction:
This is a 3D-printed fish tank hideaway designed using biomimetic principles. Its core concept is to replicate the layered, water-eroded rock formations found on natural aquatic bottoms, creating a safe and engaging three-dimensional maze through stacked rock layers and numerous interconnected holes. It effectively satisfies the innate instincts of ornamental fish and shrimp to hide, rest, explore, and play, reducing pet stress while serving as a naturally wild and captivating centerpiece in the aquarium.
Design Highlights:
- Wave-textured Base: The base features a distinctive wave-like and parallel-line texture that mimics the grain of underwater sand or rock formations. Not only does this design enhance aesthetic appeal, but it also increases friction with the tank bottom, preventing slippage and improving stability.
- Multi-channel Maze Structure: Rather than a single cave, the model comprises multiple irregular circular openings connected by winding internal tunnels, forming a complex three-dimensional passage system that greatly enhances playability and exploration.
- Biomimetic Layered Rock Form: The overall shape emulates the layered structure of natural sedimentary rocks, with a finely textured, uneven surface that realistically captures the natural feel and provides ample attachment area for nitrifying bacteria.
- Multi-functional Platforms and Openings: Several platforms and openings are incorporated on the top and sides, serving both as “viewing platforms” for fish to rest and as entry points of varying sizes to accommodate fish and shrimp of different body types and behaviors.
- Integrated Coral Accents: Small, branched coral-like decorations are attached to the front and side, adding a touch of liveliness to the otherwise rugged rock-like structure and enriching the landscape’s details and sense of ecological diversity.
Technical Specifications:
- Suggested Dimensions: Approximately 15–20 cm long, 10–15 cm wide, and 8–12 cm high (please verify exact dimensions based on your specific 3D model file).
- Compatible Aquariums: Suitable for small to medium-sized aquariums (recommended tank length of at least 40 cm).
- Materials: We recommend printing with aquaria-safe PLA or resin materials to ensure non-toxicity and structural stability even after prolonged immersion.
- Model Features: The main body and decorative elements are printed as a single, integrated piece, resulting in a robust structure; the model includes intricate internal channels and rich surface detailing.
Application Scenarios:
- The central hiding and landscaping element for small to medium-sized ornamental fish tanks (e.g., arowanas, dwarf cichlids, angelfish, danios, etc.).
- An ideal habitat and breeding refuge for ornamental shrimp tanks (e.g., crystal shrimp, rice shrimp, etc.).
- A perfect finishing touch for natural-style or biotope aquarium setups.
- A breeding tank for fish, providing a secure spawning site for parent fish and a safe hiding space for fry.
