Product Introduction
This product is a modular habitat and shelter designed specifically for small fish and shrimp. Featuring a standard cylindrical shape with an all-around grid-like openwork design, each individual unit can serve as an independent refuge; moreover, its unique interlocking stacking slots allow users to stably assemble the units into three-dimensional structures such as pyramids or towers, much like building blocks. It provides abundant hiding, exploration, and breeding spaces for species like neon tetras and red cherry shrimp, while its permeable structure ensures effective water circulation, significantly reducing stress in fish and adding a modern, minimalist aesthetic layer to the aquarium.
Design Highlights
Three-Dimensional Stacking System: The core design lies in the male-female interlocking slots on the top and bottom of each unit, enabling stable pyramid-style stacking (as shown in the figure—four units on the bottom layer, two on the middle layer, and one on the top layer), thereby maximizing vertical space utilization and creating intricate, multi-level habitats.
All-Around Grid Permeability: The cylindrical side features uniformly spaced, densely arranged elongated perforations that ensure thorough passage of water flow, light, and nutrients, preventing stagnant water zones. At the same time, these openings provide fish and shrimp with unobstructed observation and escape routes both inside and outside, offering a strong sense of security.
Durable and Safe Materials: Made from aquarist-grade, food-safe plastic with a smooth surface free of sharp edges; it does not release harmful substances even after prolonged immersion. Each unit has a moderate weight, ensuring structural stability when stacked and resistance to being knocked over by fish.
Ready-to-Use, Flexible Layout: Individual units or multiple units can be placed directly on the substrate or among aquatic plants without any additional fixation. Users can freely combine them into various configurations based on the aquarium’s aesthetic and specific breeding needs, making adjustments at any time.
Technical Specifications
Material: Aquarist-grade, food-safe plastic (such as ABS)
Single Unit Dimensions (Reference): Approximately 6 cm in diameter and 8 cm in height (estimated based on typical fish sizes)
Hole Specifications: Long, strip-shaped perforations on the side walls, about 5–8 mm wide
Stacking Method: Stable stacking achieved through the male-female protrusions and recesses on the top and bottom of each unit
Compatible Aquariums: Suitable for small to medium-sized planted tanks, bare-bottom tanks, and breeding tanks
Compatible Species: Small fish under 6 cm in body length (such as rasboras and guppies) and various ornamental shrimp
Application Scenarios
Eco-Friendly Planted Tanks: Placed individually or stacked in the foreground or midground, serving as both a functional and decorative focal point that blends naturally with the aquatic plant landscape.
Small Fish and Shrimp Breeding: The multi-layered space created by stacking provides an ideal spawning shelter, significantly boosting the survival rates of eggs, fry, and juvenile shrimp.
Stress Reduction in Community Tanks: In community tanks, the abundance of readily available hiding spots effectively reduces chasing and fighting among different species.
Fry Isolation and Rearing: In breeding tanks, it offers a safe, clustered resting area for newly hatched fry.
