Electric Mechanical Gripper Actuator
Structural Design The entire gripper assembly is fabricated via 3D printing, with power transmitted through a gear-driven mechanism powered by an SG90 micro servo. It employs a four-bar parallel‑gripping structure, assembled using screw joints. The parts are intelligently segmented, eliminating the need for supports during printing; the linkage layout is compact, ensuring smooth opening and closing, while the overall structure remains small and streamlined.

Operating Principle The servo rotates the driving gear, which in turn moves a sliding push block back and forth. A four-bar linkage mechanism translates this motion into the opening and closing action of the gripper. The servo receives PWM signals from the main controller, enabling precise control over the opening angle and gripping force, ensuring secure handling without slippage. It can be integrated with an ESP‑32 microcontroller for remote operation.
Application Scenarios This device can be mounted on robotic arms or camera mounts to perform object‑grasping tasks. It is ideal for makers to learn about gear transmission, linkage mechanisms, and servo‑driven systems. It is suitable for science and innovation training, robotics course projects, and competitions, and can also be repurposed as a sorting mechanism.
