  • Ultrasonic

I found a highly cost-effective ultrasonic scalpel driver and transducer (with recommendations) and built a simple housing using the most straightforward approach. Due to the high heat generated during operation, I modified the design to include an opening at the rear. The device is easy to print and assemble, requiring only two tiny screws (since it’s essentially an electronic toy that can be disassembled anywhere). It allows for precise plastic cutting and model finishing, which is safer and faster than using a manual utility knife, producing smooth, even cuts. (Tests show that while PETG tends to stick to the blade, other materials perform quite well.)
