This is an exceptionally elegant 3D-printed lotus-shaped trinket tray. Its design draws inspiration from the lotus flower, a symbol of purity and enlightenment in Buddhism, and leverages the freedom of form offered by 3D printing to transform its delicately layered petals into a container that combines three-dimensional aesthetics with practical functionality. The circular recess at the center of the model makes it ideal for temporarily holding small jewelry items such as rings, earrings, or buttons, or even serving as a coaster when enjoying tea. When printing, be sure to address support structures for the overhanging petal sections; if using an FDM printer, we recommend enabling tree‑like supports to preserve the fine details at the base of the petals. For layer height, aim for 0.16–0.2 mm to achieve a smooth surface finish. As for materials, we suggest silk PLA or matte PLA, which impart a jade‑like texture—allowing the gradually unfolding petals to showcase rich, nuanced light-and-shadow effects under illumination. Beyond being a practical desktop organizer, this piece also doubles as a delightful decorative art object.
