This white 3D‑printed heat sink is a specialized thermal management and protective accessory designed for model aircraft LiPo batteries. Its primary function is to enhance battery cooling during high‑current discharge or charging while providing physical protection and structural support.

  • Thermal Conductivity & Cooling: By leveraging high‑thermal‑conductivity fillers—such as thermally conductive PLA or composite materials embedded with aluminum fins—the heat generated on the battery surface is rapidly conducted away and evenly distributed across the finned structure, significantly increasing the effective heat dissipation area. Combined with airflow during flight or fan-assisted cooling during charging, this design effectively lowers battery temperature, mitigating risks of swelling, performance degradation, or even thermal runaway due to overheating—and ultimately extending battery life.

  • Physical Protection: The heat sink is strategically positioned over the battery’s top surface, acting as a cushioning layer to shield the battery from impacts, compressive forces, and abrasions during installation, flight, or handling, thereby safeguarding the delicate cells and electrodes.

  • Structural Support: The fin‑like design reinforces the battery’s upper surface, preventing deformation under high loads caused by internal pressure. This ensures the battery remains flat and stable, guaranteeing secure mounting within the battery bay.

  • Lightweight Design: The hollow, fin‑structured geometry not only maintains high thermal efficiency but also minimizes weight to the greatest extent possible—without compromising the model aircraft’s flight performance or endurance.
