As a child, I often heard my grandmother say, “A Di’s head towers above the lookout tower, and A Di’s feet stretch farther than the base of the water tower.” This 35.1‑meter‑tall structure, erected in 1937, once stood as the tallest building in Nanning—and served as an unerring landmark for anyone lost in the city. Today, following the renovation of the Three Streets and Two Alleys, the water tower has been transformed into a prominent plaza landmark, yet that sense of security—“looking up and seeing the tower”—has remained unchanged. By using 3D printing to scale it down, we aim to preserve the deep roots of old Nanning.
The model looks especially stunning when printed in PLA Silk Silver; it requires manual assembly with glue. Given the model’s small size, careful attention to detail is essential during installation—hope you all enjoy it!
