Blending Chinese chess rules with drinking culture and dice-based rock-paper-scissors, this design strikes a perfect balance between strategic depth, playful engagement, and cultural richness.

I. Basic Rules (Traditional Chess + Drinking)

• Eat a piece—drink a toast: The losing side must empty the wine from the cup associated with the captured piece (the exact amount of wine can be negotiated in advance).
• Undo a move—drink a toast: The player who reverses a move must finish the wine contained within that piece’s cup (only one move may be undone per turn).
• Checkmate—drink a “Liberation Toast”: If checkmated, the player must down 10 ml of “Liberation Wine”; if the attempt to escape fails, an additional 20 ml must be consumed.
• Endgame—drink a “Final Round Toast”: The losing side drinks a “Endgame Toast”—half the total capacity of their remaining pieces on the board.

II. Fun Variations & Expanded Gameplay (Activating Drinking Culture)

1. Soldiers Crossing the River: Dice Decide Life or Death

• After soldiers or pawns cross the river, players must roll the dice before capturing a piece:
  1: Drink half a cup—no battle for now.
  2–3: Settle the outcome with a round of rock-paper-scissors.
  4–5: The opponent calls out a drinking challenge—for example, singing a song that includes the character “moon.”
  6: Double the wine—and launch a full-scale assault.

2. Chariots, Horses, Cannons: Jianghu Command Tokens

• When moving a chariot, horse, or cannon, players can play a “Command Token” to trigger special effects:
  “Steal Heaven, Change the Day”: Force the opponent to guess the dice roll using a dice cup; the loser must drink on their behalf.
  “Seven-Step Poem”: Within 7 seconds of making a move, recite a poetic line—if you fail, you must take a penalty drink.
  “Linked Horses”: When two horses are linked in a chain, force your opponent to play “Two Little Bees” rock-paper-scissors.

3. General’s Imperial Decree: Reverse the Drinking Challenge

• When the general or marshal actively captures a piece, they trigger an “Imperial Drinking Order”:
  Both players draw a command token and execute its effect, such as:
  “Single-Rider Rescue”: Win a round of rock-paper-scissors to revive one of your own pieces.
  “Wine and Disarm the Troops”: Empty the opponent’s cup associated with a single piece—no need to drink.

III. Multiplayer Modes (Supports 2–6 Players)

1. 2v2 (Also Known as: True Gentlemen Observe the Game and Speak Wisely)

In 2v2 mode, each player controls half of the chariots, horses, cannons, elephants, advisors, and soldiers—each person only manages a quarter of the board. Players take turns making moves, working together to break through the opponent’s lines. When a piece is captured, players can alternate taking a drink—or designate which side should bear the cost of the lost piece.

2. 3v3 Role-Based Mixed Combat Mode

In 3v3 mode, players control their pieces according to specific roles.

IV. Balancing Safety and Fun

1. Rescue System (Preventing Excessive Drinking)

   Each player receives three “No-Wine Tokens” (featuring the characters “Tea,” “Song,” and “Substitute”):
   “Tea”: Substitute tea for wine.
   “Song”: Sing a song to offset penalties.
   “Substitute”: Have a teammate drink on your behalf.

2. Blitzkrieg Setup
   1. After 30 minutes without a clear winner, enter “Wild Battle” mode:
      ① All pieces are upgraded to “Chariots” (moving only in straight lines).
      ② Each time a piece is captured, roll the dice to determine the amount of wine to consume (dice value × 2 ml).
