• CentauriCarbon

If you’ve ever gotten the dreaded “too close to the exclusion area” error, you know that using the full print bed on the Centauri Carbon usually means removing a part and tweaking slicer settings. That’s because the filament cutter activates in the front right corner of the build area.

This upgraded cutter is a direct replacement for the stock part, installing with the original screw but adding a clever dovetail joint that lets you slide out the cutting block anytime you need the full build volume. Reliable filament cutting when you want it, and unrestricted print space when you need it. A quick-swap, hassle-free upgrade for every Centauri Carbon owner.

I recommend printing both parts in place. I built clearance into the model so they act as supports for each other. See the 3mf for recommended orientation and settings. It might be a little tight to separate, but a tight fit is what you want in this case.

Update: Oct 09 2025

I have added one more file “ExtendedCutter.step.” This is an experimental part for those who are having issues with the filament not cutting properly. it adds an extra 2mm to the end. Use with caution as this is untested.
